My Story

Everyone in my family loves to read and I grew up surrounded by books. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of my parents reading to me, and one of my favorite places in the world is the sunny window seat at my mom's house that was my special spot to fall asleep reading when I was a teenager.

Now that I am a parent, I find that reading with my 3-year old son is one of my greatest joys. I'm told it is one of the best things I can do for him to start him on the path to education, but I love it mostly because of the closeness, literally and figuratively, that it creates. We snuggle up, often joined by our cat, and learn about the world together through the stories we read and share. There is nothing like a good book to inspire and transport you to another place, time or world!

I first became interested in Barefoot Books because I loved the stories and the art. I decided to sell them because my family and I like them so much and we wanted to share them with all of our friends. I really think that if more children read books like these the world would be a better place. I hope you will enjoy them as much as we do. Happy reading adventures!
